Enabling Two-Factor Authentication

Two-factor authentication helps improve account security by requiring the user to provide two forms of authentication in order to log in. This increases the difficulty for an attacker to compromise an account since even if they obtain a password they must also provide the secondary means of authentication.

Enabling two-factor authentication is easy and can be done in just a few steps.

  1. Navigate to the Account Settings > Authentication tab in the KeyCDN dashboard and select “Enable 2 Factor Auth”. Note: Once this option is selected, two-factor authentication is immediately enabled. Be sure to continue with the following steps before logging out of your account.
  2. Install the Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator app on your device and add the two-factor authentication secret manually or scan the QR code provided.
  3. The next time you log into KeyCDN, provide your username and password along with the code generated by the Google Authenticator or Microsoft Authenticator app on your phone.

If you would like to generate a new secret or remove the current secret, this can also be done from the Account Settings > Authentication tab within the KeyCDN dashboard. Note that removing the secret will disable two-factor authentication.
