KeyCDN supports now country code based caching of your assets. Our edge servers derive the two-letter country code from the client IP address, that code is used for the cache key and forwarded to the origin server. Each time the client comes from a different country creates a dedicated cache entry. Why is country based caching useful? This is especially useful if your website should provide different content for countries, such as legal disclaimers.

Block Referrer - Blacklist Unauthorized Requests

The feature Block Referrer is now available! This allows the blacklisting of domains that are hotlinking content. Previously, only referrer whitelisting was available, which required all necessary domains related to the Zone to be added. This new feature can be enabled in just a few clicks and can result in significant costs savings if the content is hotlinked on other websites. An unauthorized request will result in an HTTP 403 error and the asset will not be delivered.

Push Zone Supports WebP and Brotli

The feature WebP caching and Brotli compression is now also available for Push Zones! WebP caching is automatically active once Image Processing is enabled and will transform images to WebP if the client supports the format. Image hosting in combination with WebP has never been easier. Brotli compression is now also enabled for all Push Zones by default which results in great performance improvements. The feature allows to upload assets with custom compression.

Image Processing Supports Focal Point Crop

We've extended our Image Processing service with a new focal point crop feature! It adds to our exisiting crop operation by allowing an image crop and an optional zoom at certain coordinates of the image. The coordinates can be absolute or relative to the image dimensions. An extra debug parameter displays the coordinates on the image in order to find the right position for the crop. Any image processing operation can be used in combination with focal point crop.

Image Processing Supports Watermark

We've extended our Image Processing service with a new watermark feature! This new operation allows an image to be placed on top of another image. It seamlessly integrates into our existing service. The image overlay process consists of two parts, the base image and the overlay image. The base image can still be transformed and optimized with any image processing parameter. Once the base image has been modified, the overlay image is added on top.
